Steve's 1969 Lotus Europa S2

Factory invoiced on June 18, 1969.

I purchased this car on December 5, 1972 from a car lot in Los Gatos, CA for $1800. It had 29,003 miles on the odometer. It served as my daily driver for more then 25 years. This is a California car and has been licensed, operable and driven since 1969. It is now being maintained and tastefully modified in my retirement.

After putting more than 70,000 reliable and thoroughly enjoyable miles on the clock, it is
now my hobby and not just my sole means of transport.

As much as I love things mechanical, I don't usually name them. But for years, this has been "Rat Ropa" since I
don't have the $$$ or inclination to give it a proper paint job. Besides, when I'm behind the wheel getting my
kicks, I can't see how it looks.

On very rare occasions I get clever. Note the engine deck lid support. Only engine
modifications include 55 amp alternator and Weber 28/36 DCD. Battery is relocated
to a foam filled cavity.
