I purchased this car on December 5, 1972 from a car lot in Los Gatos, CA for $1800. It had 29,003 miles on the odometer. It served as my daily driver for more then 25 years. This is a California car and has been licensed, operable and driven since 1969. It is now being maintained and tastefully modified in my retirement. | |
After putting more than 70,000 reliable and thoroughly enjoyable miles
on the clock, it is
now my hobby and not just my sole means of transport.

As much as I love things mechanical, I don't usually name them. But for years, this has been "Rat Ropa" since I
don't have the $$$ or inclination to give it a proper paint job. Besides, when I'm behind the wheel getting my
kicks, I can't see how it looks.
On very rare occasions I
get clever. Note the engine deck lid support. Only engine
modifications include 55 amp alternator and Weber 28/36 DCD. Battery is relocated
to a foam filled cavity.
